First Impression Tuesdays: Revlon Age Defying CC Cream

This weeks product is the Revlon Age Defying CC Cream, since I don't mind wearing a full coverage foundation but sometimes I do like to give my skin a rest.  Since I do have lots of dark spots and I still want some coverage since I'm not still comfortable with a bare face.

Company Claims:

A powerhouse against the first signs of aging.

85% of women saw a reduction in the appearance of dark spots on bare skin.*

It’s never too early to fight aging. This multi-benefit dynamo hydrates, smoothes, evens tone, diminishes the look of fine lines and dark spots, and protects against premature aging caused by sun. For perfected skin that glows.

Mascara: Loreal Telescopic & Loreal Lash Out Butterfly
(favorite combo at the moment Check out review for Loreal Lash Out Butterfly here)

Review:

The Garnier BB Cream is the most comparable product that I have used to the Revlon CC Cream.

The first day I used this product noticed that it made me look very shiny and oily, I decided to set it with my Revlon Nearly Naked since it's a very thin powder.  Within 2 hours of wearing the CC Cream it oxdiced on my skin making the CC Cream very dark and oily, the next day I used it the same way but this time I set it with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder on the second day my skin looked mostly even  with no shine for the full 8 hours I wore it.  At the end of the night of CC Cream did fade and my dark spots were very visible.  On the third day I used this CC Cream under my foundation (here) because of all the benefits that it has specially the SPF and since I don't usually don't wear SPF under my foundation I though this would be perfect.  Over all for me this is a good product to use on those days were I don't want to wear foundation but still want to cover most of my dark spots and still feel comfortable, compared to the Garnier BB Cream I must say that I prefer the CC Cream.

I would like to apologize for this post going up so late, sometimes you need to spend time with people who are important and spend hours listening to them vent and help them move forward with a positive mind.

Review: Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive (here)

Price: $6.49

First Impression:

The first day I put this on it look very splotchy on the lips and just for this first time I thought that I was because my lips were chapped really bad.  The second day it looked better since I did use chap-stick before I started doing my makeup. After about 15 minutes the balm sets in your lips and the little shine that was there from the beginning it goes away, and you are set for the next 3-4 hours without touching up.

Overall:

I was looking for a Matte lipstick that was in a everyday color but that also had a long lasting power.  This balm is a nice wearble color and it did last on my lips for about 4 hours without touching up, and need less to say this has become my everyday lipstick and  would recommended to everyone to try it out.

PS. I did have lunch during the time I was wearing this balm and it held up pretty good.

I'm really sorry about the picture quality I took this pictures as I was heading out with my husband to go out dancing and it was already dark out. When I was doing my make up in my head I had pictured a really dark Midnight Blue color on my lid, then I remembered that I had no such color since mine broke a couple of days ago.  I had to work with what I had and even though it was not what I was expecting I think it turned out just fine.

What I Love:

Buffing Brush: I am so in love with this brush it makes my foundation go on so effortlessly giving me an airbrush finish that no other brush that I have used has given me.  With this brush I feel like my foundation in flawless but without it feeling heavy on my skin, it helps the foundation cover all my imperfections but you are still being able to see my skin underneeth.  I also really appreciate how fast this apply my foundation specially when I'm running around in the morning.

Pointed Foundation Brush: This brush I mainly used to help me blend in my concelear and for that it's great.  I personally don't feel like this brush is big enough to put on my foundation plus im pretty sure it would take me so long. Like I said this brush works great to blend in my concealer specially because it's pointy and really gets inside the inner corner of my eyes.

Contour Brush: This is my second favorite brush in this set it does exactly what it says, it helps me contour my cheeks right where the contour is suppost to be. This helps me get a straight line in my cheeks and also blend it in just enough so it looks seemless and more natural. I have yet to try it to highlight but I'm pretty sure I will be just as good for that too.

Detailer Brush: This brush I have yet to use to be completly honest with you, but I do see myself using it for dark lipstick to conceal around my  lips to make my lipstick look perfect.

Panoramic Brush Case: The case is very sturdy and keeps the brushes in just one place, I personally keep my brushes in a Brush Holder that I made out in my vanity therefore the case for me is unnecessary.  The case is perfect for when you travel it keeps them in one place and prevents them from getting damaged.  Other than that I really don't have much use for it.

What I don't Love:

I just feel that two out of the four brushes will be getting the most use out of them since most of the time I use my finger to blend out my concelear and you know that I don't use dark lipstick all that often.  The case probably wont use at all since most of my brushes stay out on my vanity, its usefull for someone who travels alot and needs to protect there brushes.

Overall Thoughts: Im very satisfied with the quality and how soft they are, I love how you can use them for different purposes not just what there intended for.  The brush case is something that since I have not much use for I would have really would have appreciated maybe another brush like a brush blush or setting powder brush.  I love the price you get four brushes for $17.99 I had a 20% off coupon that made them even more affortable.  Other than that I'm really in love with the brush set and I know I'll be using at least 2 of them non stop.

Fall Friday: Makeup Inspiration

Unfortunantly I have no makeup look this Friday it makes me so sad because it's the day that I look forward to every week. The reason why I have no makeup it's because since I have been using the Michael Todd True Organics system I have been breaking out like crazy and I don't feel comfortable right know showing my skin right know, but I really hope that by next week I'll have some more looks up and some outfits aswell.
